DISEASES DUE TO LACK OF SLEEP

Sleeping uncomfortably in a bed with a mattress in terrible condition, combined with a lack of quality and deep sanitary sleep, prevents the body from regaining the energy used in many daily activities. This causes several difficulties in the organism that affect a person’s health, as well as discomfort and unpleasant discomforts that modify their behavior and bodily and mental condition.

A mattress with orthopedic viscoelastic technical properties can withstand or lessen the discomfort and health problems brought to a person’s body by insufficient sleep at night. This mattress is designed to adapt ergonomically to the body, allowing for 7 to 9 hours of unbroken sleep per day by lowering pressure points along the entire surface in contact with the body, resolving or reducing the severity and frequency of insomnia. Viscoelastic pillows are another factor that helps improve sleep quality and duration.

LACK OF SLEEP CAUSED BY BAD HABITS

Among the reasons for sleep deprivation include childhood practices such as sleeping in clothes and shoes, not turning off the light at bedtime, and sleeping in front of the television. These behaviors cause insufficient restorative sleep for the energy expended during the day. Another undesirable behavior is late-night and early-morning overeating, which disrupts sleep due to poor digestion.

SLEEP DEPRIVATION RESULTING FROM ILLNESSES AND HEALTH PROBLEMS

Diseases that cause transient drowsiness during the day limit a deep and unbroken restful sleep at night, resulting in a shortage of sleep. Individuals with sleep deprivation difficulties share various symptoms, including exhaustion, anxiety, sadness, inattention or deficits in attention or concentration, memory loss, and impairments in executive functioning. The only difference between these illnesses is the cause of their symptoms.

Primary sleep disturbances are classified as:

  • Disorders characterized by dysfunctions in the quality, quantity, and timing of sleep include narcolepsy, sleep apnea or hypopnea syndrome, insomnia, circadian rhythm sleep disorders, and hypersomnia.
  • Parasomnias, disorders characterized by abnormal sleep-related behaviors, include sleepwalking, night terrors, and nightmares.

SLEEP QUANTITY, QUALITY, AND TIMING PROBLEMS

Sleep-related health issues have become a worldwide epidemic in the twenty-first century. Insufficient sleep causes one out of every five motor vehicle collisions. Sleep deprivation affects poor nutrition, with people consuming less and less each day. One-third of the population eats poorly when they don’t get enough sleep, which is why lack of sleep has been linked to obesity. An excellent bed with a suitable viscoelastic mattress is the most effective treatment for restful sleep.

THE LINKS BETWEEN SLEEP AND ERRATIC BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS

A person’s lack of sleep creates physical, emotional, and behavioral issues, creating a vicious cycle. When a person sleeps insufficiently, he develops mental illnesses, and vice versa; as a result, he will feel worse each day. As with earlier issues, overcoming these diseases requires increasing the duration of unbroken sleep to improve rest quality. This is closely tied to the quality of the rest furniture, such as a bed with a decent viscoelastic mattress and a viscoelastic pillow ideal for deep sleep and restoring the body’s vigor.
